There have been 25James Bondfilms, and Daniel Craig has now starred in five of them. Looking back on the last 15 years, Craig shared what he is most proud of from playing the iconic 007.
There is a lot for Craig to be proud of when looking back at hisJames Bondfilms. From the impressive stunts to his grittier, more grounded take on Ian Fleming’s character, Craig’s Bond depiction is now being considered one of, if not THE, best Bond.

So in a new roundtable interview, Craig opened up working on his Bond films, sharing his biggest and proudest takeaway. “I feel like the five films work as one narrative thread through the pictures, and I hope it makes the movies more engrossing,” added Craig. The stories being interlinked is definitely an element that was not used in previous Bond installments. While those films would have recurring characters, each film presented a new narrative with fresh stakes. Having various plot points and characters collide in these newer films is definitely a huge reason whythe Craig Bond erastands out the most and offers a more compelling, emotionally invested 007.
While the search has been on forthe next actor to play James Bond, it will surely be a tough feat to surpass Craig’s version. Craig’s portrayal, according toNo Time to Diedirector Cary Joji Fukunaga, is his favorite, a sentiment shared by many fans. Fukunaga would further add in the same interview that Craig brought a certain type of complexity and humanity to the character, a trait he wanted to achieve when first hopping on board to write and direct the latest feature.
Many fans have speculated that veteran actors like Tom Hardy or Idris Elba could potentially take on the role, with others hoping that the ongoingJames Bond franchise goes in a fresh directionby choosing someone younger. Either way, fans will have to wait and see because long-time Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has already confirmed in a recent interview that casting for the nextJames Bondfilm will not begin for quite a while in order to allow Craig to celebrate his achievements.
