Summary

CD Projekt RED releases patch notes forCyberpunk 2077’s upcoming 2.02 update revealing the numerous fixes and improvements coming to the game. CD Projekt RED has continued the resurgence ofCyberpunk 2077with the recent 2.0 update as well as the launch of the highly anticipated Phantom Liberty expansion. The latter of which introduced a new region of Night City called Dogtown as well as a new storyline that saw the arrival of veteran actorIdris Elba joining the project as the mysterious character Solomon Reed.

Cyberpunk 2077’s revival and subsequent boost over the past couple of years after a very rocky launch were due in large part to frequent updates and continued post-launch development by CD Projekt RED. While various updates have continued to improve the game, September’sTitle Update 2.0 had a significant impact onCyberpunk 2077, overhauling significant portions of the experience including massive skill tree changes, greater police and MaxTac enforcement, improved enemy behavior, car combat, and much more. Since then, CDPR has continued to provide smaller updates including the upcoming patch for version 2.02.

While Update 2.02 is releasing soon, CD Projekt RED provided the full patch notes to giveCyberpunk 2077players a heads-up on what is improving and being fixed. The list isn’t quite as extensive as previous updates likeTitle Update 2.0 and it’s huge overhauls toCyberpunk 2077, but patch 2.02 does include some important and frustrating issues players have been reporting in recent weeks.

Some odd behaviors have been targeted inCyberpunk 2077update 2.02 including an issue where V can suddenly flatline after entering the Delamain AV during the Patch of Glory quest. In addition, Run This Town featured a section where shutters could annoyingly block the entry into Black Sapphire. Passive Skill progression and Cyberware suddenly downgrading have also been fixed as well as courier mission timers getting rebalanced to be a bit more fair.

While continuing to repair the game proved to be the correct decision which ultimately led to the game’s reputation being repaired and going on to be a big success, the work and money required to get it there was considerable. Recently, CDPR admitted thatthe studio spent around $125.9 million just to fixCyberpunk 2077over the past few years. While being a huge investment, it was ultimately one worth taking considering the level of popularity and success that followed.
