How to Get the Rasetsu Sniper Rifle in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

Thankfully, the Rasetsu is impossible to miss. Players will automatically receive it after they finish the sniper overwatch section of theYou Know My Name mission, which is part of the main quest line forPhantom Liberty.

After V infiltrates the Black Sapphire via the sewers, they’ll eventually find themselves in a sniper’s nest, where they have to guide Solomon Reed through a heavily guarded area. At this point, they’ll already be using the Rasetsu, though it’s mounted onto a mechanical weapons platform and is completely silenced. Once this section of the quest is complete, V will automatically rip out the Rasetsu from its mount and add it to their inventory.

There are two things to keep in mind when using this gun out in the field: it is no longer suppressed, nor does it have infinite ammo anymore. The gun has only three bullets per magazine, which may make taking down multiple targets in a single firefight feel cumbersome.

However, the Rasetsu’s signature perk is that it is essentially a railgun that penetrates both cover and enemy targets. Fully-charged shots also seek out targets that are close to the first enemy it hits, albeit at a limited angle. This makes sure that the weapon never misses a collateral target, though any enemy beyond the first will likely survive the shot unless they get hit in the head orin a Vulnerability spot.

Like most other iconic weapons, the Rasetsu cannot be modded. However, since it’s a Tech weapon, it does benefit from the Tech Weapon skill branch under the revamped Technical Ability tree. The Bolt skill makes Tech Weapons deal more direct damage in exchange for less penetration power, while the Chain Lightning skill makes Bolt shots arc electric damage between targets. Both of these greatly increase the Rasetsu’s ammo efficiency and effectiveness against small groups of clustered enemies.
