Earlier today, CD Projekt Red confirmed it would be hosting aCyberpunk 2077stream tomorrow, February 15. This is currently scheduled for 7 AM PT, and while the company has not yet confirmed what would be discussed there, many are itching forCyberpunk 2077news on PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, as well as a new roadmap, free DLC, paid expansions, and more.

It could be some of that or all of that is at theCyberpunk 2077stream tomorrow, but as fans whittle away the time until then, something interesting has popped up via recent leaks and data mines. In short, it seems CD Projekt Red may not intend to announce a release date for the PS5, Xbox Series X version tomorrow—it may intend to release the upgrade.

Fans should take all of this with a grain of salt, but there is some suggestion that this could be true. First, someone managed to find anXbox Series X-optimized versionof theCyberpunk 2077game icon (as seen below). Others began to report finding it on their Xbox consoles as well. Some took this as evidence enough, although these icons are made ahead of time. Its appearance online could have been a coincidence, but then, someone else dug into theCyberpunk 2077files and found a reference to new-gen versions there.

Now, whether this is true or not remains to be seen, but it would be a shocking, powerful move for CD Projekt Red. This is especially true given, at its last word,Cyberpunk 2077PS5 and Xbox Series X upgrades would be free. It is worth mentioning, however, that both sources of information on this new-gen version ofCyberpunk 2077only specify the Xbox version.

It would make sense that, if CD Projekt Red is releasing the Xbox version, the PS5 version would accompany—forbidding any complications between Sony and CDPR afterCyberpunk 2077was originally removed from the PlayStation Storeso many months ago. It remains to be seen, but chances are, if this is happening, both will release.

Luckily, it’s not a long wait for fans. At the very least, it seems highly likely that they learn something about these upgrades, and if so, they may also learn aboutCyberpunk 2077patch 1.5. It’s been rumored to be a huge update to accompany these upgrades, and if so, it could help bring new life to the game. All of this, again, should be taken with a healthy grain of salt; it remains to be seen what CD Projekt Red has planned for tomorrow.

Cyberpunk 2077is currently available for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
