The image was shared last week on Reddit by a user named SaintCarbonara with the caption, “The Last of Us pixel art by me.” The piece features a creatively designed pixilated image ofJoel and Ellie fromThe Last of Us Part 2, with Ellie wearing a space helmet and two of them smiling. The background features a space theme with planets and a shuttle above Ellie’s head. In the top left corner isThe Last of Ustitle, which is also in a pixel-style font, bringing the piece together as a truly unique work.

The Last of Us 2scene featured in the image is reminiscent of a quite emotional flashback from the game whereJoel takes Ellie to a museum. After being greeted by a massive T-rex statue outside, Joel and Ellie proceed to walk around the museum and explore the dinosaur section and the space section of the museum. Joel surprises Ellie by showing her a replica space capsule and a recording of an actual shuttle launch that the two listen to while lying in the capsule together. The moment is an emotional one, only furthering the father-daughter bond between the two characters.

Although SaintCarbonara hasn’t posted many images of their art, they claim they are working on several other pieces. According to SaintCarbonara, their main goal was to express Ellie and Joel’s “joy and emotional bond,” and to give users a creative and powerful piece of art. The user’s page boasts more shared images of other users' original art, including ShareYourSheps' image of a unique character design ofCommander Shepard from the game seriesMass Effect.

Other users are clearly fans of the piece. The post has over two-thousand likes and continues to grow. The comments are all positive and encouraging, with others expressing how much they like the piece and creating conversation about certain aspects of the game.

The Last of Us 2is available now on PS4.
