There’s only a couple of months to go untilCrash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Timeis finally released. Developer Toys For Bob releasedmore details about the new Crash gameat the most recent PlayStation State of Play event, including revealing some new skins that players will be able to unlock during the game.

After many years and many less than stellar attempts at sequels,Crash Bandicoot 4will be a canon sequelto the last Naughty Dog game in the series,Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. Coming out in October,Crash Bandicoot 4will be a return to the classic look and feel of a Crash game, but updated for a new generation.

In a new video, Toys for Bob revealed that one of the perks ofCrash Bandicoot 4would be the ability to unlock new skins that players can dress Crash and Coco with. Some examples shown in the video were a biker outfit, chicken suit, and retro neon light suit. Outfits for Coco were also shown including a unicorn suit, sea-captain, and 80s themed clothes. The video speeds through a number of other outfits, indicating that there will be lots of different skins for players to unlock as they play through the many levels ofCrash 4.

Toys for Bob reassured players thatno microtransactions will be necessaryto unlock these skins but instead players will need to complete challenges and earn gems throughout levels. The footage showed Crash and Coco switching between skins seamlessly, which means players will likely be able to change outfits whenever they want during a level.

Plenty of other details were revealed during the State of Play event forCrash Bandicoot 4, such as some new playable characters and a completely new art style gameplay. Along with the previous announcements thatCrash 4will feature new platforming abilitiessuch as wall runs and rail grinds, this all make for an exciting new experience forCrash Bandicootfans.

Judging by the latest reveals,Crash Bandicoot 4could be the sequelthat Crash Bandicoot deserves. Toys for Bob is clearly taking care to make the new sequel feel like a Crash game, but with some extra features and a new art style that make the game seem fresh. For now the game will only be released on PS4 and Xbox One, but just like theCrash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, the game could make its way to other platforms further down the line.
