For fans of classic platformers, one of the most exciting upcoming games isCrash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, set to launch this October. On the bright side, that could change in the future.

Speaking to PCGamesN, an Activision representative has confirmed that the company is “evaluating” the possibility of bringingCrash Bandicoot 4to other platforms at a later date. This means that theCrash Bandicoot 4release date of October 2will still likely only apply to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game, but that PC gamers and Switch owners may be able to expect it to come to their platform of choice at some point later on.

Alternatively, it’s possible thatActivisionis referring to other platforms entirely. While it has mostly ignored Google Stadia, it has recently confirmed thatSekiro: Shadows Die Twiceis coming to Stadia later this year, so maybe the company will bring some of its other games to the platform as well. It may also be looking at bringingCrash Bandicoot 4to the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles instead. There are a lot of possibilities, so fans will just have to stay tuned.

While it is no doubt disappointing for some thatCrash Bandicoot 4is only going to be available on PS4 and Xbox One at launch, many others are grateful that a newCrashgame is coming out at all. It’s been over 10 years since the last platformingCrash Bandicootgame, and even longer since the last numbered entry.Crash Bandicoot 4is ignoring most games in the seriesas it wants to deliver the level of quality found in the original games, and so reallyCrashfans haven’t had a truly high quality game for over two decades at this point.

Crash Bandicoot 4is rumored to have over 100 levelsand looks like it will be faithful to the original games while still providing plenty of exciting, innovative gameplay. Fans will find out if it lives up to the hype when it finally launches in just a couple of months time.
