Halloween season is finally upon us, and games have fully embraced the spooky, dark, and eerie season with Halloween-themed weapons, features, and benefits.CoD Warzone’s annualHaunting Event is in full effect, featuring modes and maps that have been reworked to fit the spooky season.
The classic Jumpscare interaction is also back to throw players off their game while looting. Not everyone is a fan of Halloween, andCoD: Warzone’s jumpscares, which are flashy and loud, can be annoying during gameplay. In the past, there was no way to turn off the jumpscare feature, but this time, players can and here’s how to do it.

How to Turn Off Jumpscare in Warzone: The Haunting
To turn off the jumpscare feature inWarzone’s The Haunting, players should navigate to the Battle Pass menu, as it is only effective here. In the menu, players receive a warning message regarding the jumpscares with an option to keep them on or turn them off. For players who wish to disable the feature, they can select “No Tricks, Just Treats.”
However, this option is only valid on the Battle pass interface rather than the main in-game content, such as Vondel or Al Mazrah. Jumpscares may still pop up even with the feature disabled, making it vital for players to avoid any triggers that prompt them. For example, gamers should avoid opening any lootable chests onthe nighttime mapsor any of the Vondel and Al Mazrah maps altogether.

Players who have a change of heart can easily switch the jumpscares on or off via the Battle Pass tab. Click on the little box at the top left hand of the screen and toggle the feature on or off.
Are Jumpscares Necessary?
Players have been askingActivision to make numerous changes, including removing the jumpscare interaction since last year’s Haunting event. Although the jumpscares are a fun addition toWarzone, they’re more frequent this year and a little too buggy. Players can almost predict when a jumpscare will pop up since they appear during a loot, which quickly gets old. Turning off the jumpscare interaction allows players to enjoy The Haunting without unnecessary jump scares at every turn.
While the solution is partially foolproof, it gives players a little break from the loud and flashy interaction when getting seasonal rewards. Hopefully, Activision is working on a mechanism to disable jumpscares throughout CoD: Warzone, not just on the Battle Pass interface. For now, players can lower their in-game volume and avoid possible triggers until devs come up with a permanent solution.
