Not all celebrities live a life of luxury and excess… at least, not exclusively. While they have millions of dollars to their names, some of the world’s biggest stars prefer the simpler things. Adam Sandler likes to buy his clothes from Target, Rachel McAdams travels around Toronto on a bicycle, and apparently, Chris Hemsworth, the star of the upcoming Marvel filmThor: Love and Thunder, likes to order KFC using the drive-thru.
Earlier this week, Hemsworth stopped bya local KFC establishmentin the Australian town of Murwillumbah, surprising the workers as he pulled up to the drive-thru window in his vehicle. According to their reports, he made a $73 order that included one 15-piece original chicken bucket, one Zinger combo meal, and four regular popcorn chicken combo meals.

After they handed him his food, they all gathered together by the window so that Hemsworth could take a photo with them. Snapping selfies with fans is nothing new for the Marvel actor. The A-lister is well-known for his friendly demeanor when interacting with fans and often makes headlines for his humble encounters. In times past, he surprised diners at Chargrill Charlie’s in Sydney and also helped out with lunch duty at Byron Bay Public School where his kids are enrolled. Coming from humble beginnings likehis co-star Tom Hiddleston, he would be all too familiar with the simple life.
It’s unclear what Hemsworth was doing in Murwillumbah in the first place, considering it is a 40-minute drive from his home in Byron Bay. However, his visit was certainly not one that was planned as a sort of charity or outreach event, he was genuinely just hungry. At the time of his visitThor: Love and Thunderhad wrapped filming, and since then Hemsworth has been preparing for his next films, including the upcoming Hulk Hogan biopic on Netflix andFuriosa, theMad Max: Fury Roadsequel.
Thor: Love and Thunderwill mark Hemsworth’s fourth appearance in a film about the Norse God of Thunder and several exciting cameo appearances are expected to occur. The cast is set to include a number of familiar faces, including Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Taika Waititi as Korg, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, andKaren Gillan as Nebula. Also, Luke Hemsworth, Matt Damon, Sam Neil, and Melissa McCarthy will also appear as Actor Thor, Actor Loki, Actor Odin, and Actor Hela, and Russell Crowe will make his MCU debut as the almighty Zeus, the Greek god of the sky.
Thor: Love and Thunderis scheduled to arrive in theatres on July 16, 2025.
