The hardcoreGhostbustersfanbaseis about to cross over with a group even more passionate than they are: sneaker fans. That’s right, Reebok has announced that, as a special Halloween treat, they’ll be releasing a special set ofGhostbustersbranded sneakers. There are two styles that’ll be available for purchase, and they both officially go on sale October 31st at midnight.

Obviously the shoesare a loving tribute to the classic 1984 comedystarring Bill Murray, and there will be two unique designs. One is a flashier and slightly more expensive sneaker called the Reebok Ghost Smashers, pictured above. That set will set buyers back around $150 dollars, and unfortunately only seem to be available in men’s sizes. The other set is the Ghostbusters Classic Leather Shoes, pictured below, which are just as stylish, but more wearable, and will only cost $100 dollars in comparison.

It would seem the Ghost Smashers are more inspired by the Ghostbuster’s hardware, particularly the Ecto-1 and the proton pack. In fact the shoes even have a little pack on the back of them, complete with little tubes that hook into the shoes. It is detachable at least, in case folks want to take them for a spin without losing any parts. The Ghostbusters Classic Leather Shoes are more inspired by the jumpsuitsworn by Murray and co.in the film, and feature a similar color scheme as well as a prominent Ghostbuster logo on the tongue.

This isn’t the first time a classic film has turned into a specialty sneaker. Reebok itself had the Bug Stompers recently, which were based on Ripley’s outfit in the filmAlien. Nike also made a splash by announcing a line of self-lacing shoes inspired by the filmBack to the Future 2, though they were released for the insane price of $720. While these shoes are definitely cool, there’s no doubt that they are intended for collectors first and foremost, as there are lot of better day to day shoes out there for a more reasonable price. Still, it’s nice that Reebok is at least offering a slightly more affordable version to those who may not be big into sneaker collecting, but still love Ghostbusters.
