Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarZombies is giving players many new features to play around with, including a new way to end a game. WhenBlack Ops Cold Warplayers tire of surviving the infinite rounds of the mode, they can exfiltrate the map via a helicopter and end the game without taking a death.

In previous versions of theCall of DutyZombies mode, the only way to end a match was by dying intentionally or completing a map’s main story quest. From now on, however, Zombies players will be able to end a game alive as opposed to dead. Showcased in the lengthygameplay trailer forBlack Ops Cold WarZombies, the feature was further detailed within aCall of DutyBlog post.

Exfil on Die Maschine, theBlack Ops Cold WarZombies launch map, will not be easy according to the post. “Zombies spawns will be dialed up to 11” if the exfil option is triggered, though successfully surviving and escaping via helicopter will provide Zombies fans with extra rewards when they return to the main menu. The concept of holding out below a helicopter while hordes of zombies rush in is an exciting premise, and hopefully the feature proves to be as fun as it sounds. If players exfil from post-launch maps via helicopter or use another method is unconfirmed, though Treyarch shared today thatallCold WarZombies DLC will be free.

WhetherWarzone’s leaked Zombies Royale modefeatures a similar exfil mechanic remains unclear, much like most details regarding the mode. The datamined voice clips for the mode certainly sound interesting, however, as players will be tasked with various objectives withinWarzone’s zombies offering. “Chopper is down, fight your way out” and “consume the remains of the dead to regain your humanity” are just a few of the leaked objectives, both of which sound like the makings of a very intriguing game mode.

Warzone may have also received another Zombies connection with its Season 6 update, as a creepyghost girl can be heard laughing inWarzonenear a campsite. Players were quick to theorize that this may be Samantha from the Aether storyline inCall of DutyZombies, as the demonic controller of the undead was often heard laughing throughout the mode. With the first look atBlack Ops Cold War’s version of Zombies confirming that the story will be taking place within the Aether universe, this easter egg becomes even more interesting.

WithCall of DutyZombies featuring a mix of new features like the exfil system andclassic mechanics like perks, the mode is shaping up to be very intriguing.Black Ops Cold Waris now just over a month away, so Zombies fans will not need to wait much longer to slay the undead.
