However, Activision has yet to provide specific details as to what this year’sCall of Dutygame will entail. But while Activision itself has not revealed new information onCall of Duty2021, leakers may have beaten it to the punch.
ProminentCall of Dutyleaker ModernWarzone has let slip more details about what fans can expect from this year’sCall of Dutygame. According to ModernWarzone,Call of Duty2021 will take place in an alternate history timeline where World War 2 never ended. This would be relatively new territory for theCall of Dutyfranchise, as it has mostly stuck to historical conflicts, fictional interpretations of modern conflicts, or conflicts set in the far future.

IfCall of Duty2021 is truly set in an alternate history where World War 2 never ended, it would actually make a lot of sense when considering previous leaks about the game. For the uninitiated, reliableCall of Dutyleakers have said that the game isset during World War 2, while others have claimed that it is set in the 1950s. It seems both claims will technically be accurate if the rumors aboutCall of Duty2021’s timeline turn out to be true.
In ModernWarzone’s video about theCall of Duty2021 leak, they also reiterate the game’s title. Apparently,Call of Duty2021 will be titledCall of Duty World War 2: Vanguard, though it was stressed that this is just a working title for now. It’s entirely possible that the game’s title will be changed by the time it’s properly revealed, though leaks aboutCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s title proved to be true pretty far in advance.
While ModernWarzone has a track record of accurately leakingCall of Dutynews, fans should still take this information with a massive grain of salt. Activision has yet to reveal any real details aboutthis year’sCall of Dutygamebeyond the fact that it’s in development and scheduled to launch during the holiday season.
