While the first entry was arather short PC game, it more than demonstrated the creative chops of the studio, with the story offering a glimpse into the world of an obsessive artist who’s hellbent on completing his magnum opus. With the clip opening on a lighthouse, fans are given a brief glimpse into what can be expected from this new entry that promises to tie the series together. One thing that some may have noticed is the slight name change as well. When asked on Twitter about it, Bloober said that it chose to drop the “s” from the originalLayers of Fearstitle after receiving feedback. Some may be confused by this as it suggests the upcoming game is a remake of the 2016 release, but all signs point to it being a continuation of previous events, turning the series into a threequel.
There have been a couple ofteasers forLayers of Fearsince the game was announced at Gamescom 2022. The first installment became notable for its ability to instill fear in the player without the use of enemy threats. Its twisted visuals and dark narrative helped put Bloober Team on the map, with critics giving the game some decent scores.
While the sequel wasn’t as well received, the fact that the firstLayers of Fearwas intense from start to finishis what appealed to fans of horror.
