The conclusion ofBreaking Bad’s spin-off,Better Call Saul, has reached the end of its six-season run.The story of Jimmy McGillhas concluded, and with it, audiences are forced to say their goodbyes to Saul Goodman and the many well-written and well-played characters that inhabit the world created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould.

However, with six seasons, and a talented cast and crew, there remain some unanswered questions fromBetter Call Saul. Some questions come from the finale, which gives fans enough ambiguity to come to their own conclusions.
8What’s The Deal With The Diamonds?
Every first episode of a new season ofBetter Call Saulfollowed the story of Gene Takavic, the new identity of Saul Goodman after his life as a criminal lawyer was exposed, and he became one of the most wanted men in America. Season 5 introduced audiences to Gene and his stash of diamonds, and many fans waited for Season 6 to answer what the diamonds meant.
The diamonds werestashed in a band-aid tin, the same tin that Jimmy McGill kept his rare coin collection. Fans assumed that Jimmy kept the diamonds as easy-to-move expenses rather than having barrels of cash. Yet, after Gene is caught, the diamonds are nothing but speculation.
7Will Kim Remain In Legal Trouble?
Kim Wexler and Jimmy McGill ended their marriage after the death of Howard Hamlin. They had enjoyed their time ruining his reputation, but things escalated when Mexican cartel member, Lalo Salamanca, shot him in the head, ruining their fun and making them witnesses to the murder.
Kim, trying to move on from her guilt, writes and signs a letter to Howard’s widow, Cheryl. Cheryl tells Kim that she can take her to civil court so that Kim will be forced to pay damages for the rest of her life. It is unknown whether Cheryl made this decision.
6What Happened To Jeff?
Gene Takavic was found out to be Saul Goodman by a formerAlburquerque, New Mexico taxidriver, Jeff. Jeff soon became crime partners with Gene, which inspired Gene to get more greedy, and ultimately cost him his downfall as he went after a mark with cancer. Jeff, inexperienced in the criminal world, was startled by police and ended up driving into the back of another car and getting arrested.
Jimmy tries to send Jeff’s mother, Marion, to bail him out at the police station. However, things escalate when Marion uses her LifeAlert button to inform the operator that Saul Goodman is in her kitchen. Jeff’s fate is left undecided, but his relationship with Saul’s identity as Gene would be sure to be questioned by police.
5How Did Saul Meet Kuby?
Dr. Caldera was a veterinarian who used his business as a front for criminals to provide them with both illegal contacts and medical assistance. However, Caldera explained that his true passion was actually as a veterinarian, and he gave up a criminal life after selling Jimmy McGill his little black book. One suchcontact was Patrick Kuby.

Although Kuby was in the book, audiences still don’t know how Saul and Kuby first met or where Kuby is afterBreaking Bad. Kuby was a great character, thanks to the performance by Bill Burr. Seeing how these two characters met and built a professional relationship could have been both smart and funny.
4Is Saul Or Jimmy On Top?
After burying his life as Saul Goodman and accepting his crimes, Jimmy McGill returns and is sentenced to 86 years in prison. On the prison bus, Jimmy states to the other convicts that he’s McGill, but everyone begins tochant “Better Call Saul,”the famed catchphrase of the criminal lawyer.
When audiences see Jimmy in prison, many of the inmates befriend him and still refer to him as Saul. It leaves it unclear whether Jimmy remains as himself or leans more into the Saul persona for the inmates and their favor. Yet, as he confidently stated earlier in the episode, he will always be “at the top.”
3Is McWexler Back?
It’s a common trope in television shows that the relationship between married couples wavers to add further drama. Kim Wexler and Jimmy McGill were a beloved TV couple, as they enabled each other’s behavior, until one day it went too far, and they broke up for good.
Kim returns as alawyer to represent Jimmy, more as an excuse to see him than to help him get out of prison. The two share a cigarette and many longing glances. It leaves the question of whether the famed ship “McWexler” is back or if this is closure for both parties.
2Will Jimmy McGill Leave Prison?
With an 86-year sentence in prison, it seems unlikely that Jimmy McGill will leave prison before he is an old man. Such a lengthy sentence makes it seem that Jimmy will be fated to die behind bars. However, Jimmy is adamant that with good behavior, he’ll be out before then. The ambiguity of his hope begs the question of if Jimmy will be a free man before he becomes an old man.
Kim Wexler is Jimmy’s lawyer, and considering audiences, and Jimmy knows how good of a lawyer Kim is, it may be likely that although audiences won’t see Jimmy McGill again, they can close the doors on the series knowing that there’s hope their favorite lawyer will be enjoying life.
