Summary
Roguelike exploration, crafting, building a temple, sacrificing a follower. All in a day’s work for a busy spiritual despot inCult of the Lamb, which blends horror with adorable forest animals. Part of the game is spent tending to the flock, building their beds, cooking their meals, and preaching obedience through a balance of gifts and threats.
When it comes to the Crusade part of the game, players can usedifferent builds of weapons, Artifacts, and Cursesdepending on what kind of leader they want to be. Being a cult leader and a supernatural being, the Lamb has magical powers known as Curses that can also be used to damage their enemies, and there’s a choice of weapons at the hero’s disposal.

Update January 25th, 2024, by Kristy Ambrose:The recent update, Sins of the Flesh, added the Blunderbuss to the Lamb’s arsenal. The selections were lacking somewhat in the ranged department and the Blunderbuss, which is essentially akin to a shotgun, not only has range, but powerful smashing and stopping power to combat the more powerful enemies the Lamb will meet in the updated version of the game. New Curses and Artifacts are also available to augment and improve the power of this new weapon along with all the older ones options that were available to the player.

Follow the small sword icons on the Crusade map to find more weapons and weapon upgrades, which often include Curses as well as weapons. Kudaii, the smithing vendor, also sells and trades weapons. When swapping out one weapon for another, the old one can be recycled or destroyed for a few extra coins.
6Blunderbuss
Powerful But Slow To Recharge
The Blunderbuss is a great weapon when it comes to power, knocking back and stunning enemies and smashing through the more powerful armor players will see in the newly-updated dungeons. If they’ve already finished the game’s dungeons once, the Sins update will task players with finishing them a second time, and they might have Roman numerals over their heads with an improved armor class.
Not all the weapons can break through this armoras effectively as the Blunderbuss, and while staying at a safe distance. The drawback is the Blunderbuss only has three bullets that recharge at a fairly slow pace, which makes its rate of fire extremely slow. This weapon deals some of the largest damage-per-hit in the game, but players will need to be accurate with every shot to avoid being overwhelmed.

It’s essential to have some Tarot Cards and a Curse with some crowd-control to fill in the gaps it takes to recharge those bullets, which the Lamb will find during their Crusade. That makes it a better weapon to use at the end of a run, rahter than the beginning of one.
5Daggers
The Fastest, But Has The Shortest Range
Faster than swords but dealing less damage, the dagger is more useful after the player has learned to use the Dodge ability. Equipping a dagger allows the player to damage their enemies as quickly as they can move between them.
When the Lamb first ventures into Darkwood, they’ll start to find daggers as well as Tarot Cards. These are either available from the Tarot Card dealer Clauneck or chests and can be used to enhance the Lamb’s existing abilities.

4Axes
Slower, But More Powerful, With Advanced Abilities
TheAxes se willbe offered to the Lambonce they’ve been to Darkwood a few times, and they will find them in the wilds of Anura. The ax is slower than a sword and a dagger, but does more damage and has a better range.
By the time the player has ventured into Anura, they’ll have abilities like Bane and Vampiric that can be applied to weapons. Vampiric can return the hit points that it takes from the target back to the wielder, which means the ax can heal as much as it hurts. There might be a parallel in this philosophy with leading a cult.

3Gauntlets
Faster And More Lethal With Combos
The Lamb will start finding gauntlets in Darkwood after they defeat Leshy. They’ll also come across them when entering the realm of Anura to pursue the second Bishop Heket. They aren’t very impressive at first, dealing little damage unless the player has already mastered certain hit combinations.
When combined with an ability like Bane, which does damage over time, the gauntlets are more useful. Necromantic is a nice ability for players who don’t like to fight alone, raising the ghost of a slain enemy to fight alongside the Lamb. Merciless gives the player a better chance to deal a critical hit, so the longer a player can keep a combo going, the more damage they can do.

2Hammers
Equally Good For Speed And Damage
Hammers do more damage than any other weapon, but they are also the heaviest and move the slowest. These are the weapons that the Lamb doesn’t have the strength to wield until they have enough followers to enter the realms of Anchordeep and Silk Cradle. They might appear in the other realmsafter the enemies have been cleared.
Despite its lack of speed, thanks to the hammer’s wide range, it often hits more than one enemy with its swings. Players will find that the earlier dungeons will not only raise the difficulty level by sending in tougher enemies, but also by increasing the amount of enemies per room after the boss has been defeated.

More advanced levels require a more strategic approach as opposed to random button mashing. By the time the Lamb reaches this level, they will have to be able to strike a balance between speed and damage, both AoE and melee, making the hammer a good choice.
1Swords
The First Weapon Is Versatile
The very first weapon players will find is the trusty Crusader’s Blade, which comes up in the initial tutorial dungeon, an easier version of the game’s first true dungeon, Anura. As the Lamb rises in level, they can wield the Bane Sword, which deals poison damage, or the Vampiric Sword, which sucks the life from its victims and gives it to the wielder.
Swords are the one weapon that’s equally effective at the beginning of the Dungeon as it is at the end, and they pair well withany number of Curses and Tarot Cards. They’re also the most well-rounded qualities when it comes to speed, range, and damage. They are the best weapon to start with while training with other abilities.
