Summary
Palworldis more than just aPokemonclone, which seems like a genre that is a dime a dozen these days. It’s equal parts RPG, open-world game, and survival game all bled into one gigantic adventure. While it’s onlyin Early Accessnow, it does feel like a full-fledged adventure minus the crashes and funny glitches.
Let’s first focus on the survival aspects asPalworldis also a lot likeMinecraft. Players can build various tools to interact with trees and rocks to gain materials that can then be used to craft items. These are some of the best materials to hoard as much as possible in the early hours.

1Wood
Essential For A Player’s First House
Wood is the basic building block in any survival game likePalworld. It’s a relatively easy resource to find too as sticks will be all over the starting area.Woodotherwise can be extracted from trees with a good old chop of an axe, which may produce some other materials too.
Now, Wood as an element can build a lot of things on its own, including most crafting projects in the game. For example, building a house is one of the most important first steps. A house is needed because players need to sleep and beds need to be somewhere with a roof inPalworld. Erecting a house is easy with enough wood using the Wooden Structure Set, which involves flooring, walls, and a roof.

2Stone
Vital For A Variety Of Tools
Stoneis the Yin to Wood’s Yang as the two cannot be separated as they are also a basic building blockin survival games. There are not many crafting recipes that can be built with just Stone materials, unlike Wood, but that’s okay. Some of the most important items need both.
For example, the aforementioned axe needed to chop trees down requires both Wood AND Stone. Wood and Stone can also make pickaxes which are used to mine minerals like Ore or more Stone. Other, more precious materials are exclusive toPalworldwhich will be covered as well but all in all, Stone as a material is just as valuable as Wood. Most importantly, Wood and Stone can make Wooden Chests for storage.

3Paldium Fragments
Needed To Craft Pal Spheres
InPalworld, Paldium Fragmentscan be extracted from small blue boulders found throughout the many islands in the game. The main reason to mine them is because they are necessary for craftingPal Spheres. These little orbs are how players can catch Pals much like Pokeballs in thePokemongames.
There’s also a secret function of Pal Spheres as they can catch humans. Pal Spheres aside, Paldium Fragments are used in many Pal-based crafting recipes from weapons to the Palbox, which establishes a home base for players.

4Ingots
Required For Nails, An Important Early-Game Material
Ingotscannot be mined in the game, unlike most Wood or Stone materials. Ingots instead require players to forge them in ovens using mineable minerals called Ore. Ingots were chosen over Ore because Ore, on its own, isn’t really used in a lot of crafting recipes.
Ingots, on their own, can be used in many recipes including better storage units and weapons likeguns, which take a while to unlock inPalworld. They take the place of metal, which is a common element in other survival games and can be used to craft other important early materials in the game, such as Nails.

5Cloth
Essential For Crafting Clothes
Players can customize their avatar at the start of the game except with the clothing. That comes into play when crafting recipes, and to make clothes, players needCloth. Like Ingots, Cloth is not the base material as it has to first be made usingWool inPalworld.
Wool, thankfully, is one of the easiest monster materials to farm as it can be extracted from Lamballs, the little sheep-looking Pals. They are all over the starting island just waiting to become pants and other Cloth-based materials. The glider in this game needs Cloth, called a Normal Parachute, which acts like the Paraglider inThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

6Fiber
From Bows To Beds
There are not many objects in the world that can give players two different materials at the same time. For example, those aforementioned blue rocks will generally give players just a bunch of Paldium Fragments. Trees, however, will produce Wood AND Fiber when they are attacked with axes.
FiberinPalworldis kind of like the glue that binds things together or is just like a sturdy piece of wire. Fiber can be used inbeds inPalworldto make them comfy or bows, which is the best long-range weapon players are going to get for a good majority of the game. Even the shield accessories use Fiber. Fiber can even make Repair Kits, which are valuable items as any tool can deteriorate after heavy use.
