Officially launching on June 01, 2025,Amazon Lunais a cloud gaming platform that is available in the United States, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Subscription services have steadily become more commonplace in the industry; however, most opt to allow users to download games rather than stream them. Consequently,Amazon Lunais taking a risk since its performance depends on someone’s internet connection.
Ultimately, none of this would be relevant if the service did not have a solid roster of games at its disposal. Unlike most other services,Amazon Luna divides its library into channels: Luna+, Jackbox Games, and Ubisoft+. Initially, there were also the Family and Retro channels, but they were discontinued in December 2022.

Let’s take a look at thebest Amazon Luna games.
Updated June 04, 2025:Amazon Luna is still around, and the platform is constantly updating its Luna+ library. While the subscription service has perhaps not taking the gaming world by storm since its usefulness is quite situational when compared to some of its competitors, it is still a good option to have.

Rocksteady’sArkhamtrilogynot only took superhero games to the next level but is arguably still the standard setter. All three entries are great, butBatman: Arkham Knightcould be seen as the series' black sheep, at least on PC. The title launched in a notoriously poor state on computers, rightfully garnering a lot of backlash as a result. In due time, Rocksteady improved the port’s performance enough to bring it to an acceptable degree, and the game has been playable for a long time.
Arkham Knightfinds Batman going up against a mysterious new threat, the eponymous villain, who has direct ties to the Caped Crusader’s history. ExpandingArkham City’s open-world, the 2015 sequel features all of Gotham as its sandbox, and the Gothic metropolis is still a sight to behold almost a decade after the game’s debut. As overexposed as theArkhamcombat eventually became,Arkham Knightmight just represent the gameplay style at its peak.
Capcom’sDevil May Cry 5could be seen as a litmus test for Amazon Luna. Demanding precision and quick reflexes, the 2019 hack & slash title does not provide much room for error, so input lag would significantly hamper the experience. On the other hand, ifDMC 5performs well for someone, it is a safe bet that most other games will be at least playable.
DMC 5is also just a ridiculously fun action game. All three playable characters – Nero, V, and Dante – are completely unique, each delivering fully realized combat systems that could easily be used as a foundation for entire games. The game is also infinitely replayable since its focus is squarely on the gameplay, and as a player grows more comfortable with the combat’s mechanics, the more enjoyableDMC 5becomes.
Yes, aTetrisgame. Practically everyone is familiar with the block-dropping franchise since it has been around for decades, and the property seems destined to remain a fixture of gaming for eternity. As timeless as this concept is,Tetrisis difficult to get excited about as there is the belief that the gameplay has nowhere left to go. At least, that seemed like the case prior to the release of 2018’sTetris Effect; although not a significant departure from the license’s status quo, this game felt and still feels fresh.
Tetris Effect: Connectedadds a multiplayer component to the single-player modes, enhancing an already stellar package. Unsurprisingly, this modern update of an arcade classic is one of thebest Luna+ games.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoningwas special in 2012. Even if its story and quest design were nothing to write home about, the game’s real-time combat system put to shame most open-world releases of that era. Taking hints from the likes ofGod of WarandDevil May Cry,Kingdoms of Amalurdelivered fast-paced hack and slash action that allowed plenty of wiggle room for build variety. Themagic system was also a blast, provided someone does not mind being overpowered.
In 2024,Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoningdoes not feel all that special. While still fun, the combat lacks some weight and is let down by overly easy enemies. The vibrant world is visually appealing and fairly epic, but it is packed with busy work and uninteresting characters. Despite all that,Kingdoms of Amaluris still a fun time, especially for those who have a fondness for PS3 and Xbox 360-era RPGs.
Amazon Luna has its share of co-op games, including bothOvercookedreleases. While the first entry is perfectly enjoyable, there is little reason to play it over the sequel, which offers more of the same, just slightly better. Cast as chefs in constantly busy kitchens,Overcooked! 2is a cooking sim, and a fairly realistic and demanding one at that.
While the gameplay loop gets a bit repetitive after a few hours, the core experience is tight, addictive, and engaging. Keeping up with the orders can be rather stressful, an emotion evoked by most of the best sims on the market. Although solid as a solo package,Overcooked! 2really begins to sizzle when multiple player-controlled chefs are running a kitchen.
Originally released as a virtual reality title,Paper Beast: Folded Editionmade this game accessible to all, and this is a trip well worth taking. Pixel Reef crafted a stunning and bizarre world filled with paper mache-style creatures that ooze personality. Visuals are not everything, but they are undoubtedly the highlight of this delightful game.
In terms of gameplay,Paper Beast: Folded Editionconsists of puzzles that primarily involve manipulating the creatures. For people who simply want to immerse themselves in this surreal realm, the game also has a sandbox mode.
Capcom’sResident Evilhit a rough patch in the late-2000s and early-2010s. The franchise lost touch with its horror roots, and it took switching to a first-person angle to revitalize the series (althoughRevelationshelped too). However, people yearning for a more traditional entry in the series should prioritize Capcom’s remakes. While 2020’sResident Evil 3is decent,2019’sResident Evil 2is not only a better gamebut also a contender for the best entry in the franchise.
RE2is a third-person shooter that beautifully balances action and horror, satisfying both genres in a way that Capcom has historically struggled to do. Containing two playable characters who follow relatively different routes,RE2is gorgeous, thrilling, and intense. This remake is for both fans of the 1998 original and players who have never stepped foot in Raccoon City.
Relentlessly charming is the best way to describeBug Fables. The turn-based RPG unashamedly usesPaper Mario’s early entries as inspiration, which is great since Nintendo’s franchise has largely moved away from its roots. Set in Bugaria, players take control of three insects who are tasked to go on a series of missions; along the way, they can complete side quests, unlock new moves, and even expose a conspiracy or two.
Bug Fables' combat system is great, and it manages to be accessible and also challenging. The rest of the package hits the mark too, as everything from the visual style to the main campaign’s writing is of high quality.
Remedy’sControlis an action-packed sci-fi game set within the Federal Bureau of Control, a place that is home to many unexplained phenomena. Armed with empowering abilities that are a blast to utilize within battles,Control’s Jesse Faden explores thisunnatural buildingin search of her brother.
Outside of combat, which is comfortably the best in any Remedy game to date,Controlarguably shines the brightest when focusing on side content that plays into the FBC’s strangeness. While the vanilla version is also part of Amazon Luna’s Luna+ channel, players should go with theUltimate Editionsince itcomes with all the game’s expansions.
Amazon Luna might not haveDoom,Wolfenstein,Duke Nukem,Quake,Blood,Heretic, orUnreal Tournament, but it has something just as good:Dusk. Modern throwbacks to old-school classics have become fairly common, and while there are a few impressive retro shooters out there,Duskis a step above most of its contemporaries.
Split into episodes, the campaign guides players through ominous landscapes dripping in occult and horror imagery.Dusk’s environmental design is top-notch, and the project succeeds in using its inspirations to find a unique voice. The gunplay might not hold too many surprises for FPS veterans, but they are unlikely to be disappointed. The game has a fun arsenal of weapons, some of which are pretty unique for the genre.
It took a while for it to happen, but the gaming industry finally succeeded in producing a terrifyingAliengame. Except for the 1979 movie, an argument can be made thatAlien: Isolationis the scariest release in the beloved sci-fi franchise, a feat accomplished by emphasizing the fact that a Xenomorph is a powerful predator who can tear humans without breaking a sweat.
As Amanda Ripley, players are stuck in a space station with the iconic monster, and hiding is the best (and often only) course of action. While there are a handful of weapons, Ripley is generally too weak to put up much of a fight against the Xenomorph, forcing her to use stealth to survive.Alien: Isolationis long, intense, and faithful to the source material.
Sega’s Blue Blur has had a polarizing two decades, but if there is something nearly everyone can agree upon, it is thatSonic Maniais fantastic. A throwback to the franchise’s classic 2D era, the 2017 release not only pays tribute to these titles by incorporating iconic levels but also modernizes the gameplay in a way that enhances the overall package.Sonic Maniais a love letter to Sega’s property, andPlusenhances the package by adding new playable characters.
Regardless of whether someone grew up with the hedgehog or not,Sonic Maniais a game they need to play, especially if they are fond of platformers. It is comfortably one of thebest games on Amazon Luna’s Luna+ channel.
