In a recently shared press release,Prime Videoannounced the release date for the upcoming Batman holiday special and also shared the synopsis of the highly anticipated project. “Merry Little Batmanis an animated family action comedy destined to join the rogue’s gallery of classic holiday movies,” reads the press release. “When youngDamian Wayne finds himself alonein Wayne Manor on Christmas Eve, he must transform into ‘Little Batman’ in order to defend his home and Gotham City from the crooks and super villains intent on destroying the holidays.”
Prime Video also shared a brand-new posterMerry Little Batman, which sees Damian as Little Batman running alongside his father and mentor. InMerry Little Batman, Damian Wayne, the smaller version of The Dark Knight, faces the difficult task of foiling the plans of classic Batman villains attempting to wreak havoc in Gotham. To save Christmas, Damian must come forward with successful strategies to keepBatman’s most notorious villainsat bay. As the World’s Greatest Detective, his cunning and wit will be tested. Fans can anticipate a thrilling holiday adventure as Damian showcases his resourcefulness. The story is similar to theHome Alonemovies, where the villains get outplayed by a tiny-sized protagonist.
Merry Little Batmanfaced distribution challenges followingWarner Bros.' merger with Discovery. Initially slated for release on Cartoon Network and streaming on HBO Max, the project was left without a distribution home.
