Summary
AnotherDestiny 2costume is making waves in the community, as a player has brought the iconic villain fromGame of Thrones, The Night King, to life. Their character setup uses the armor customization system inDestiny 2to evoke the style and appearance of The Night King as seen in HBO’sGame of ThronesTV series adaptation.
ThoughDestiny 2had a wide selection of armor with a diverse array of different styles to choose from, its systems didn’t always support the level of customization seen now. Early players often faced difficult choices between armor they liked the design of and armor with better stats or qualities they needed to improve their characters' combat performance. That changed in 2021, when Bungie introduced a system that enabled players to take the appearance of any piece of armor and apply it to another. Called Armor Synthesis, the system greatly expanded players' cosmetic options and allowed the creation ofa huge number of customDestiny 2characters.

Destiny 2 Player Cosplays as The Night King from Game of Thrones
Reddit user SgtHondo posted their customized costume on DestinyFashion, a community for sharing player-createdDestinyandDestiny 2looks. SgtHondo used the robe-like armor items worn byDestiny 2Warlocks as the basis for a costume evokingThe Night King fromGame of Thrones. In HBO’s TV series, The Night King is a White Walker and the leader of the Army of Dead that invades Westeros from beyond the Wall. He wears a suit of thin armor, and his head is made of frozen, snow-blue tissue.
To achieve a similar look, SgtHondo assembled a costume from several different pieces. The Night King’s crown-like head was replicated by The Hood of the Taken King, a cowl piece dropped from theDestiny 2Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon. The Paragon shader gave it a frozen, ice-encrusted coloration. Meanwhile, the Eagle’s Robes, a premium piece fromDestiny 2’s Eververse store based onAssassin’s Creedcharacter Altair’s outfit, approximated The Night King’s low-profile armor coat. Its night-dark coloration was provided by the Erebos Glance and Amethyst Veil shaders. An additional “icy” accent was added via the exotic Osmiomancy Gloves using the Endothermia ornament. The legs and class item slots were filled out by the Epialos Following boots and the less visible Ancestral Bond armlet.

Given how powerful aDestiny 2Stasis Warlockcan be in the hands of a player, it seems fitting that SgtHondo could come up with a look reminiscent of a character that symbolizes an eternal, deadly winter. It’s also particularly helpful that the build incorporates the Osmiomancy Gloves, a Stasis-specialized Warlock armor piece. Unlike someDestiny 2looks that only use Legendary armor pieces, having an Exotic armor piece in the mix allows such a build to be truly viable in gameplay, and not just for appearances.
