Per a post onAttack On Fans' Twitter account, all recording for thebest anime on Huluhas officially finished. Next on the agenda will be to complete the soundtrack, an integral part ofAttack on Titan. After this is complete, it should be no time until the final chapters are ready for viewer consumption.

Attack on Titanis not the longest anime – or manga, for that matter – to pull audiences in.One Pieceis still going strong two good decades after its first issue, all with a live-action interpretation heading for Netflix. But despite its length,Attack on Titanhas told a four-season story in a decade with some of thesaddest scenes in anime. After Eren (Yûki Kaji) sees his mother gobbled up by a Titan, he and his childhood friends Misaka (Yui Ishikawa) and Armin (Marina Inoue) become moved to join the fight against the horrifying monsters. But as they grow up in the military, they change, not always for the better. One of the largest arcs of the series is Eren’s descent into antagonism – or the very least, anti-heroism. The recent season showed him spew hate for Misaka as he decided to use his ability to turn into a Titan to pull off genocide. The final chapters will demonstrate where the characters will go and how they can overcome this great adversary.

Though this will be the end of an era, it is also a gift in its own right. Having such a concise story with a fully developed character arc is not easily accomplished.Attack on Titanhas received some criticism for its drop in quality, but for what it’s worth, the manga sticks the landing. Eren is one of themost morally ambiguous anime characters, which has been building up for some time. It isn’t an anime without the characters facing larger-than-life obstacles and making decisions they can’t come back from. Whether you like Eren or not, fans can’t deny that he goes out with a bang. Those who haven’t read the manga will have to wait to see what becomes of these characters when the finale airs.

The Final Chapters ofAttack On Titanwill premiere in the fall of 2023.
