Orlog is a popular game among the citizens ofAssassin’s Creed Valhallaand although some official physical versions of the tabletop game exist, an enthusiastic fan has recreated the game from the ground up with a unique design.

Ubisoft created Orlog exclusively forAssassin’s Creed Valhallaas a side-activity that Vikings can do between raids and a fan of the title has recreated the tabletop game. Artist Cristian Tarau recently shared his version of Orlog, showing off his craftsmanship and attention to detail. All of the important features of Orlog are included and the artist has even created a rules sheet for anyone who’s unfamiliar with the board game.

Orlog is a complicated gameat face value but asAssassin’s Creed Valhallafans have come to realize, it plays well. The board game involves shaking six dice in a cup in order to defend against or attack their opponent. After the initial phase of Orlog, players make offerings in order to receive a God Favor which will benefit them in some way. The Resolution Phase calculates everything from each dice that players roll and their respective God Favor. The player who is defeated at the conclusion of the Resolution Phase loses points and the next round begins.

Assassin’s Creed Valhallaintroduced millions of fans to Orlog and Tarau’s recreation is what one might expect royalty in the game to play with. Instead of the antique cups that Vikings shake their dice in whenplaying Orlog inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, in two months Showerthoughts0701 has created extremely detailed wooden cups. Unlike the cups inValhalla, these ones have runes laser engraved into the base.

While the dice cups look extremely unique to Tarau’s version of Orlog, the dice and Gods of the board game look almost exactly like those inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’s version of the game. The tokens that represent the health of each player look very similar, but have a golden color. Tarau purchased two small chests to hold each player’s cards, dice, etc., and one large chest to hold everything. These chests have been laser engraved like the other items in order to offer an aesthetic that wouldfeel at home inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla.

While PureArts has alreadycreated and sold 500 limited Orlog setsthat were officially licensed, it’s impressive to see anAssassin’s Creed Valhallafan create their own unique set. Orlog may receive other official releases in the future, but that didn’t stop Tarau from creating his own set, which is already catching the eye of several otherValhallafans on Reddit.

Assassin’s Creed Valhallais available right now for Google Stadia, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
