Summary

The 1.03.1 update forArmored Core 6: Fires of Rubiconis available to download on both PC and consoles as of October 5, FromSoftware has confirmed. The new patch rolled out just two weeks afterArmored Core 6was bumped to version 1.03.

Originally launched in late August,Armored Core 6debuted to critical acclaimand widespread praise from the series' fandom. Despite that strong launch, FromSoftware did not rest on its laurels, having immediately started polishing the game with additional updates packing balancing changes and bug fixes. The 1.03.1 patch is the fourth such release to date.

The update itself includes stat adjustments for 34Armored Core 6weapon units, 57 frame modules, and 16 inner parts. Two expansions were also revised as part of the patch, with Pulse Protection receiving increased Resilience rating, while Terminal Armor got a Duration buff. Furthermore, the update rebalanced Attitude Recovery of every AC in the game, making lighter mechs lose Strain much faster, while slightly reducing the dissipation rate on heavier ACs. Larger mechs were also treated to a small Assault Boost nerf, which will no longer provide them with a massive top speed increase.

The 1.03.1 update further curbed Assault Boost in terms of its Impact reduction effect duration, as well as its overall rate of Impact accumulation from enemy collisions. 10 in-game boosters were treated to Upward Thrust increases as part of the patch, while three fire control systems got their Close-Range Assist values nerfed. Meanwhile, a trio ofArmored Core 6generatorsreceived seemingly even boosts to their Energy Capacity and Supply Recovery, among other stats.

Looking at the bigger picture, the 1.03.1 update is much more of an overall component buff than nerf, as it introduces 90 individual stat increases and only 37 decreases. The latest version ofArmored Core 6also addresses more than half a dozen bugs, including an annoying issue that would occasionally cause select weapons to fire in case of an attempt to reload a full magazine.

As was the case with the past three patches for the game, this latest release is classified as anArmored Core 6regulation update, with that label alluding to it being required for online play. The PC version of the game should update on its own, whereas console gamers unable to accessArmored Core 6multiplayer are advised to check whether their systems are set to boot the game in offline mode, which prevents the patch files from downloading automatically.
