Frictional Games has revealed the PC requirements for its upcoming gameAmnesia: The Bunker, and it looks as though the release is going to be able to run on a wealth of systems. This entry in the ongoingAmnesiaseries counts itself among themost anticipated horror games of 2023, sitting side by side withSons of the Forest,Alan Wake 2, and even the remake ofResident Evil 4. For those who have played the previous releases in the franchise, it’s not surprising why it’s something to look forward to.

The first installment,Amnesia: The Dark Descent, has gone down as avery influential horror game, helping to revive the genre at a time when it was experiencing something of an identity crisis. What made it stand out was how vulnerable it made players feel by stripping away their ability to defend themselves, while also encouraging them to turn their back on nearby enemies. It became one of the most terrifying video games of its generation, and while there have been a number of entries since, they haven’t quite managed to capture that same magic.

However, many are still excited aboutAmnesia: The Bunker, and the PC hardware requirements have now been revealed. According to the Steam page, , at the very least, players will need an Intel Core i3 or AMD FX processor, 4 GB of RAM, and either an Nvidia GTX 460 or its AMD Radeon equivalent. Looking at the recommended specs, players will need something just a little bit more powerful: a Core i5 or Ryzen 5 CPU, 8 GB of RAM, and either a GTX 680 or Radeon RX 580 graphics card. The game will also run on Windows 7 and beyond.

Looking at these requirements, it seems evident thatThe Bunkerisn’t exactly going to break the bank for a lot of PC users. Although it’s not a AAA title, it will be refreshing, especially to horror fans, to see a new release that doesn’t require brand-new hardware. While some titles are even recommending something as expensive as anNvidia RTX 4000 seriesor some other new-gen graphics card, Frictional’s title should suit a lot of systems, even some low-end ones.

Fans are going to have to wait a little bit longer for the game, though. Originally scheduled for release in March,Amnesia: The Bunkerhas now been delayed until May, with the developer citing illness as part of the reason for pushing the date back. This gives the studio a bit more time to work on the title, so hopefully those few extra weeks will be worth it.
