The Plot
Every season ofAmerican Horror Storyhas had a fascinating title that suggested the terror in each episode. The show has explored many different aspects of horror, from a coven to witches to a house more haunted than the average scary film setting. According toWe Got This Covered, a tweet from September 26th, 2022 from the AHS Zone account shared that season 11 will beAmerican Horror Story: New York City. This was confirmed by theofficial AHS Twitter accounton September 29th. It’s interesting to note that both season 11 ofAHSandScream 6will take place in NYC. It’s a fun, busy, chaotic setting that can be absolutely terrifying.
John Landgraf, the Chairman of FX, explained toThe Wrapthat season 11 won’t be two parts the way that season 10,Double Feature, was. Landgraf said, “What I can tell you is that the concept for Season 11 is one story. It actually takes place in different timelines but it’s one subject, one story, with a beginning, middle and an end, like many of the prior stories.”

Fans were curious about what the plot would be, since in April 2021, Ryan Murphy tweeted that he wanted people to vote on potential themes. Murphy tweeted “The #AMERICANHORRORSTORY universe is expanding…” and said Plague, Sirens, Bloody Mary and Aliens were the four themes that were in the running, according toNME.com.
The Cast
Deadlinereported that Billie Lourd and Zachary Quinto will becoming back for season 11 ofAmerican Horror Story. Patti LuPone and Isaac Powell will also be on this season, along with Sandra Bernhard. Quinto starred inMurder HouseandAsylum.
Lourd is a familiar face for Ryan Murphy fans as she not only starred as a Chanel inMurphy’s solid showScream Queensbut also inAHS: Cult, Apocalypse, 1984, and Double Feature. Lourd also took on the main role in theAmerican Horror Storiesepisode"BA’AL.” Lourd shared withDigital Spythat she loves the roles that Murphy has offered her: the actor said, “Anything Ryan Murphy wants me to do I will always do no matter what it is. He is my hero. He’s given me some of the most incredible opportunities. I’ve gotten to play such a crazy wide range of characters with him.”
Charlie Carver and Joe Mantello will also be part of the cast and they have also starred in Murphy’s shows. Carver played Huck Finnigan inRatchedand Mantello played Mickey Marcus in Murphy’s HBO film adaptation ofThe Normal Heart.
Denis O’Hare will also star in season 11, and he has been in numerous seasons of the show. O’Hare’sMurder Housecharacter Larry Harvey is one of the most memorable characters as he used to own the home and tells Ben Harmon (Dylan McDermott) that he should be careful while living there because his family is in great danger.
The Release Date
American Horror Story: New York Citywill premiere on Jul 12, 2025, which is great news for fans of the franchise since that’s definitely soon. Fans had heard that it would happen this fall TV season and it’s exciting to have a date.
